Clear Communication - Provide Positive Feedback via STAR Method

Here’s something to think about it…

To achieve clear communication, we need to provide feedback using the STAR Method where “ST” describes the situation/task we are talking about (the context), “A” is the action that the employee took, and “R” is the result of taking that action. Here’s an example:

  • ST - We had to quickly come up with a solution to catch up on the backlog of unexpected customer orders that came in over the past two weeks.

  • A - You pulled your team together, listened to their ideas, and implemented a few different processes to get the backlog of customer orders in the system.

  • R – Everyone feels less stressed now that there isn’t a mountain of work that seems impossible to conquer and they feel heard since you included them in the decision-making process!

Isn’t this much better feedback than “good job”?

Are you ready to dig into this? I help Organizations inspire confidence back into their team for innovation and growth. I help Organizations design and implement a system that fosters and protects a strong culture where employees are heard and understood from leadership down. In doing so, individual team members can gain confidence to bravely introduce innovative ideas and grow the company. If you are ready to get started, please reach out to chat.
