Happy 2025! 🥳 As you wrapped up 2024, I hope you had Happy Holidays and were able to take some time for yourself! As you start the new year, I thought I’d share some of our favorite Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, Pulse Point, and an EQ World below to reflect on. I am also sharing Neil Gaiman’s New Year’s wish he posted many years ago that a friend shared with me on New Years Day. Would love to hear your thoughts on it…
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.
So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
-Neil Gaiman
Look forward to connecting with you!

December 2, 2024 – 47th Newsletter
I hope you had a great November and embraced the challenge of recharging 🔋and reflecting 🪞 on what you are thankful for and appreciative of in life – personally and professionally. As many of you know, that was the theme of all our November publications; you can catch up on these through the Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, Pulse Point, and EQ World below. 🥳
For December, it’s a great time to continue your recharge and reflection period. It’s also crucial that you celebrate the growth you’ve had throughout the year. 🎉 Every time we pause and celebrate our success in growing and evolving no matter how small, it boosts our self-regard, aka our inner confidence. What I say to many of my coachees is, “You are worth the pause, the 5 minutes to reflect on yourself and be proud of your growth. You are worth the investment.” Through this process, it’s also critical to give yourself grace. It’s ok to make a mistake – these are learning opportunities. It’s ok to take a pause or break – we all deserve it. ⏯️
Through this reflection period, I will also be reflecting on what 2025 holds for me and my business, so I will pause on social media postings and allow myself to rest, reflect, and reset before the start of the new year. 💗
I hope you have Happy Holidays and I look forward to reconnecting in 2025! 💞
Reach out to chat if you need anything in the meantime!

Did you celebrate? All of August was devoted to encouraging you to celebrate 🎉 something big or small in your personal and professional life – if you aren’t caught up, check out why this matters in the Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, and Pulse Point below. One of the “things” I continue to celebrate is that I’m accepting new clients! Check out those areas below as well.
Also, can you believe it’s September? I know a lot of people already moved on to Fall in mid-August 👀, but I am not one of those people-ha! Now don’t get me wrong as I’m looking forward to football season (go Bengals 🏈) but I do love summer weather; I’m just not quite ready for the chiller side of Fall. Maybe you can empathize! And it just so happens that Empathy will be the focus for September publications so get ready for some listening. Stay tuned.😉

Happy July! When I think of this month, I think about the summer heat and trying to relax and slow down a bit – what do you think of? I am looking forward to some great upcoming client trainings and events, speaking at the Summer Education conference in Gulf Shores (7.24), soaking up some sun at the lake, and reading some books – what plans do you have in July?
To reflect a moment on June – I wrote about “human kind, be both.” This phrase sparks some reflection on how to be human and kind in your every day as well as your leadership journey - how’d you find the material? If you aren’t up to date, no worries, check out the Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, and Pulse Point below.

June 3, 2024 – 41st Newsletter
It’s June – can you believe it? June is a special month for me as it’s my wedding anniversary – we are celebrating 20 years on June 19! In June we also take time to relax at a beach on vacation and new this year, we will be enjoying some boat life! I’ll also be speaking (twice) at the AICPA Engage Conference in Las Vegas on June 6 and at the Bluegrass SHRM meeting in Lexington, KY on June 11. On top of that, I have some fantastic trainings and coaching sessions scheduled with my wonderful clients! Would love to hear what you are up to in June – drop me a note!
To reflect a moment on May – did you enjoy the discussions about Patrick Lencioni’s book, “The Ideal Team Player” this past month? If you aren’t up to date, no worries, check out the Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, and Pulse Point below. A lot of times we overcomplicate how and who to hire and this book helps us simplify some concepts by first evaluating 3 core virtues – being hungry, humble, and [people] smart. Hope these publications inspire you in some way!

Happy May Everyone! I hope you enjoyed the discussions about Michael Stanier’s book, “The Advice Trap” this past month; if you aren’t up to date, no worries, check out the Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, and Pulse Point below. I wrote about this topic of staying curious a little bit longer and rush to advice giving a little slower as many people (me included) struggle with this concept from time to time; after all, no one is perfect! The concept of helping develop others through building their critical thinking skills is essential to our people’s growth journey. Also, having a natural curiosity helps you in many facets of life. Quick fun fact – when I’ve interviewed people for my teams in the past, if a candidate didn’t ask a thoughtful question or two during the interview, they would not be considered for the job. Asking thoughtful questions shows your natural curiosity, that you care, and want to understand.
In May, I have some exciting plans including kicking off the month on a Women’s Entrepreneur Retreat in Sedona (with my Ellivate Alliance sisters), working with amazing clients to “feed” and “grow” their #1 assets (their people) through training and coaching, enjoying several family and friends activities, exhibiting and attending the Women Leading Kentucky conference, and of course, saving some time for some self-care! What are you up to this month? As far as what I’m writing about in May, it’ll be all about the qualities for the Ideal Team Player - so, stay tuned!
I look forward to hearing your personal and professional development milestones this month! Please share on social media and reach out to chat if you need anything!

Can you believe we are already 25% through the year!?! I hope you enjoyed learning about/refreshing yourself on/thinking about employee engagement in March – if you missed anything or want to go back and reference something, check out the Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, and Pulse Point below. Engaging employees is crucial for an organization’s success and long-term viability. So often people overcomplicate what is needed and required so that’s why I covered the basics throughout March.
For April, I look forward to some Spring sunshine as I plan to discuss the advice trap many managers fall into at the workplace… Stay tuned!

March 1, 2024 – 38th Newsletter
Happy March! We are just rocking it through the year, aren’t we? The saying “time flies,” I’ve been feeling that a lot lately. Not sure what that’s all about…but I’m glad you are here with me. I hope you enjoyed the Coaching for Development topic for February; if you aren’t up to date on them, no worries, check out the Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, and Pulse Point below. I wrote about that topic over my birthday month as it’s critical that as a people manager we develop our people and help them build their own critical thinking skills. So often people managers think they are developing their employees but in reality we can be the bottleneck, the answer bank, the advice giver, and so on – all of which don’t help our people cultivate the critical thinking skills that help them grow and don’t help us build out our team’s potential.
In March, some of the things I plan to do are soak up some sun on a short vacation, watch a lot of college basketball (love March Madness time!), and celebrate my husband’s birthday. What are you up to this month? As far as what I’m writing about this month, it’ll be all about Employee Engagement; without engagement, your department and organization will not thrive. So, stay tuned!

Can you believe it’s a new year?!? To me the saying, “time flies” is so true; 2023 seemed to go by fast! As I look back on the year, it was filled with lots of celebrations, travel, laughs, friends, family, growing, love, adventure, milestones, relationship strengthening, among so many more things.
I look forward to a new year grounded it doing what motivates me, which is why all our December material (Quotes, Think about it Thursdays, Pulse Point, etc. which you can read below) had this theme. In 2024, we’ll kick off with goal setting as our focus as many are taking their reflections on the past year and their dreams for the future and setting baby steps to tackle them! Does this ring a bell for any of you? If you haven’t thought about it, no worries, take a moment and think about it now. I look forward to another great year with you!
