How can EQ be assessed?

Updated: Aug 27, 2020

Let’s think about it…

As discussed last week, think about EQ like a road map - by understanding your emotions, you are better able to navigate from point A to B. To better understand how much you use EQ, you can take an assessment via the EQi-2.0 tool, one of the most popular models of emotional intelligence, which measures 5 areas of behavior and 15 skills of EQ. You will be able to see your current usage of each skill and create an action plan to increase usage and balance EQ skills. Here’s a look at the components and skills assessed in the EQi-2.0 Model:

  • Self-Perception: Self-Regard; Self-Actualization; Emotional Self-Awareness

  • Self-Expression: Emotional Expression; Assertiveness; Independence

  • Interpersonal: Interpersonal Relationships; Empathy; Social Responsibility

  • Decision Making: Problem Solving; Reality Testing; Impulse Controls

  • Stress Management: Flexibility; Stress Tolerance; Optimism

So, drop a comment - what EQ skill are you looking forward to learning about the most?
