Why should we celebrate the small wins?

Let’s think about it…

It’s easy to get going so fast and not slow down to celebrate the small wins like receiving positive feedback, completing a portion of that project, or even learning something new. It’s easy to only look at that FINAL completion date of a project as “the win”/the point at which you can celebrate.

But an important part of building your self-confidence aka increasing your emotional intelligence leadership skill of self-regard, is celebrating those small wins and milestones. Respecting yourself and having confidence in your abilities (i.e., self-regard), helps you express yourself more easily, allows others to feel assured you can support the organization in a variety of capacities and aids you, and likely inspires others, to meet objectives and make better quality decisions.
