Why Should you Connect Individuals to the Bigger Picture?

Let’s think about it…

On Tuesday, I posted a great quote from Ken Blanchard and Scott Blanchard, “Do People Really Know What You Expect from Them?”, Fast Company:

“Connect the dots between individual roles and the goals of the organization.

When people see that connection, they get a lot of energy out of work.

They feel the importance, dignity, and meaning in their job.”

Like last week’s post, this also seems like a no brainer but often individuals don’t understand how they fit into the bigger picture of the organization. When employees do understand how their role and their individual goals support the organization, they feel purpose and connection. What does this lead to? Employee engagement, or what I like to call…the magic!
