Effective Human Leadership requires being grounded in your core values. You need to know them, live them, and breath them every single day to be authentic and show people who you are. People want to see authenticity.
In the workplace, we often talk about the organization’s core values, and living them. An important point to make is if your core values don’t align with the organization’s core values, then no matter what type of “mask” or persona you try to put on, it usually comes across as disingenuous. Moreover, this inauthenticity negatively impacts workplace relationships and trust.
The big picture – it all comes down to defining your core values, being authentic, and living that every day. Authenticity leads to effective leadership; authenticity is showing your true human self.
