Let’s think about it…
Shadowing or even working in other departments provides you a great deal of perspective. It helps you understand the bigger picture of the organization (i.e., how each department/process flows into the next), what that role entails, and how that team prioritizes issues and changes. Having a better sense of how initiatives and challenges affect others, helps you with your own emotional intelligence leadership skills of flexibility. You now have a broader perspective to adapt your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors when faced with change.
