Empathy - Empathetic Environment

Here’s something to think about it…

“Empathy takes time; efficiency is for things NOT people.” Maria Ross, author of the book, “The Empathy Edge,” highlighted these facts that Stephen Covey said on a podcast. She goes on and says “to create an empathetic environment, you have to put in the time. It’s a long-term investment. It slows you down temporarily but accelerates you in the long-term as it builds trust and loyalty. It’s easy to be empathetic when things are good. If you’ve created an empathetic environment, then when it’s tested, there’s a firm foundation already there when you need to call on it.”

So, my question to you:

  • What is one thing you are doing to create an empathetic environment?
